A gable angle finishes the verge, the sloping edge of the roof at the gable end. It covers the cut edge of the outermost sheet and turns down over the barge board, so wind cannot lift the sheet and rain cannot run under it. Our bitumen gable angles are 0.85m long and come in black, brown, green and red to match the sheets.
Yes, and they are not interchangeable. You nail bitumen sheets, using zinc-plated bitumen fixing pins in a matching colour, driven through the crown of the corrugation into battens or boarding. PVC and polycarbonate must never be nailed. They need washered screws in oversize holes so the sheet can move. Use only the pins the sheet maker specifies.
It bridges the gap where the sheets from both slopes stop short of the apex. The bitumen ridge cap laps over the top ends of the sheets on each side, and you nail it through every corrugation so rain sheds down both slopes. Our ridge caps are 0.85m long in black, brown, green and red. Leave a 50mm ventilation gap beneath the ridge.
Eaves fillers block the open corrugations along the bottom edge of the roof, and beneath the ridge cap. A bitumen sheet's profile leaves a gap under every wave, so without fillers wind, driven rain, birds and insects get in. Our black bitumen eaves fillers are shaped to the sheet profile and fit any of the four sheet colours.
Mostly, yes. Our bitumen gable angles, ridge caps and fixing pins come in black, brown, green and red to match the four sheet colours. The eaves fillers are black only, and the wall flashing is charcoal only, 940mm long with a 103mm upstand, and fits Gutta sheets and most 95mm wave profiles. Onduline Easyline is stocked in black, green and red only.
