Yes. Our coloured corrugated range is bitumen in black, brown, green and red, plus Suntuf Beehive bronze, which is polycarbonate rather than PVC. Bitumen colours are opaque and stained through the sheet. The bronze polycarbonate is a translucent tint that still passes about a third of daylight. Palruf PVC comes in clear, plus a Trans-Blue Greca box profile.
Slightly, then it settles. Our Palruf BT bitumen sheets deepen in colour over the first few weeks in sunlight as the bitumen oxidises, then hold their shade, losing gloss and going matt over the years. Suntuf Beehive bronze has a co-extruded UV layer; fit it facing the sky or the sheet will discolour.
Yes, every colour we stock is made for exposed roofs. Black, brown, green and red bitumen sheets are the usual choice where the roof is on show, since they are fully opaque and hide the structure beneath. Bronze Suntuf suits pergolas and carports where you want shade with daylight. Choose by the surroundings rather than performance, which is equal within each material.
Yes. Colour has no bearing on waterproofing. The material, pitch and laps do. Our Palruf BT bitumen sheets carry a 15-year waterproofing guarantee when fitted with one corrugation side lap and a 150mm head lap - close attention should be paid to the fitting instructions. Bronze Suntuf polycarbonate sheds water exactly like clear Suntuf. Whatever the colour, keep above the minimum pitch and fix through the crown of the corrugation.
Black and green suit agricultural and field buildings, because they blend into hedges and the dark roofs around them. Red and brown suit garden buildings near the house, where the roof needs to match tiles, fences and timber. Bronze Suntuf suits a pergola or lean-to that needs daylight. There is no performance difference between the four bitumen colours, so choose on looks.
