These timber self-tapping screws are designed for fixing corrugated polycarbonate roofing sheets to wooden supports. Supplied with a 25mm EPDM washer, they provide a secure fixing while allowing the roofing sheet to accommodate normal expansion and contraction.

The screws are suitable for use with a range of corrugated polycarbonate roofing products, including Suntuf™, Ez Glaze™ and Suntuf™ Beehive. They are also suitable for other compatible polycarbonate corrugated profiles where the screw size and fixing method are appropriate.

The EPDM washer helps spread the load around the fixing point and provides a weather-resistant seal, while the galvanised steel screw offers suitable corrosion resistance for outdoor roofing applications.

Please note: These screws are designed for timber supports only. If fixing corrugated sheets to steel or aluminium, a suitable self-drilling metal fixing should be used instead.

Installation Information

Timber supports only: These screws are intended for wooden purlins and supports. Use suitable self-drilling fixings when fixing to metal.
Pre-drill the sheet: Corrugated polycarbonate should be pre-drilled with an appropriately sized hole to allow for thermal expansion and contraction. Follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions for the specific sheet being installed.
Install square to the sheet: The screw should be inserted perpendicular to the sheet so the EPDM washer sits evenly against the surface.
Do not over-tighten: Tighten the screw sufficiently to hold the sheet securely and seat the EPDM washer, but do not crush the washer or distort the roofing sheet.
Correct fixing position: Fixing positions and spacing vary depending on the corrugated profile and supporting structure. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for the roofing sheet being installed.
Check the washer: The EPDM washer should sit evenly around the fixing point and cover the hole properly.
Allow for movement: Polycarbonate expands and contracts with changes in temperature, so the fixing must not restrict this natural movement.
Do not walk directly on corrugated sheets: Use suitable crawling boards or roof ladders supported by the structure when access to the roof is required.
