Our easy-fit foam tape is designed specifically for the Ez Glaze polycarbonate roof system, providing a practical solution to noise, friction, and thermal expansion issues.
Fitted directly onto timber rafters, this 20mm wide and 20m long, one-sided tape acts as a flexible gasket between the polycarbonate sheets and the wood.
It allows the roofing materials to expand and contract naturally with temperature changes, reducing friction and preventing creaking or rattling.
Compatibility:
Ideal for Ez Glaze roofing systems (by Palram), but also commonly used with Suntuf DIY, Suntuf Beehive, and corrugated PVC profiles.
Noise Reduction: Cushions the polycarbonate against timber rafters, preventing the creaks and rattles caused by thermal movement.

Foam tape is supplied in white for a reason. Dark-colored rafters absorb more heat, which can cause plastic roofing to warp, melt, or become brittle over time. Light-colored or white rafters reflect sunlight, protecting your roof and ensuring a longer-lasting, durable installation.
Why Dark Colors Are Problematic:
Heat Absorption: Dark rafters absorb more solar radiation, increasing surface and material temperatures.
Material Degradation: PVC and Polycarbonate are thermoplastics and can warp, melt, or become brittle under excessive heat.
Reduced Lifespan: Prolonged exposure to heat can shorten the lifespan of your roof.
Recommended Solution:
Use Light-Colored Rafters: White is the best choice to minimise heat absorption and protect your roof.
Protect the Rafters: Painting the exposed top surface of rafters white can further enhance the durability and resilience of your roof system.
